In our warm, tropical climate, I've found that, in summer especially, hot coffee elevates my body temperature to an uncomfortable point.
I'm hot before I go out into the heat!
One day, I tried an Iced Coffee at Starbucks and what I got was hot coffee with ice in it. By the time I finished it, the coffee was too watered down.
It gave me an idea.
The next morning, I made a strong pot of "Seattle's Best", which tastes good at any strength. I filled a red solo cup with ice, poured the coffee in, and almost immediately strained it into a coffee cup. Results: a cup of good tasting cold coffee. After a day or two of drinking it that way, I wondered why I'd never done it before. Now I drink iced coffee all summer long and go out into the hot day with a cool body.
